This is a 6 week course (one hour per week) aimed at intermediate guitarists who want to get more from chords and rhythmical patterns. This workshop will highlight the rhythm guitar techniques used by Keith Richards, Chrissie Hynde, Joe Strummer, NIle Rogers and Billy Joe Armstrong who all use chords and chord inversions to create musical rhythmic interest. You'll learn various damping techniques as well as how to find your own chord inversions using chord harmony. You don't need to know any theory for this course but you will be learning a one octave major scale and all about intervals too, so feel free to get that under your belt before the course if you want a head start.
The venue is Colman Redland Centre, Croydon Rd. Reigate - free parking on site as usual.
This course is primarily an electric guitar workshop so you will need your own electric guitar and a small amplifier ideally. Guitar amplification is not provided on this workshop but can be supplied by prior agreement for a small fee.
